IAJE & family affairs

Biiiiiig news! My trio's gonna open up for Ray Drummond quartet!! It was my dream to stand on the same stage with the great masters who I learned so much from their records. So soon, and so suddenly. Billy Hart will be probably in the group, and I studied with him. The best thing I can do is to present my best at this point, and that's my way to return "Thanks" back to them. I have a long way ahead of myself to be like them, but I do believe in the power of music which moves through me. And so so grateful to have Tyshawn and Jim for this band. We'll play our sincere heart out!! Hope you can come out and be part of our music. more info; below
IAJE stands for International Association for Jazz Education. It's a cool annual meeting to exchange info between schools, and I'm thinking about checking out some master programs I'm interestead in apply in furture. I heard that many university are not willing to offer a jazz program to major because it's not serious enough to dear with?! I totally realize how jazz education can feed musicianship for any field of musician.
By the way, my aunt will visit me in NY. She helped me a lot when I was in Japan, and so excited that she's gonna be in town just in time for our show. But!! you know what? my Mom is planning to come with her. For those who knows, we went through so many dramas, and we left off at not talking each other for many years by now. What's going on now??
